All-America Lacrosse Announces Launch of New Division to Feature Rising 8th and 9th Graders

[Baltimore, Md.] — [October 1, 2024] — As the All-America Lacrosse event prepares to celebrate its 20th year as the premier national lacrosse tournament of the summer, Corrigan Sports is thrilled to announce the creation of a new competitive division: the Rush Division.

This exciting new division will feature boys and girls who are rising 8th and 9th graders; allowing an opportunity for young athletes with an exceptional platform to showcase their skills among the nation’s elite. Due to the creation of the Rush Division (2029 & 2030’s), the Command Division will shift to include ONLY rising sophomores (2028’s).

New Balance All-America Lacrosse Divisional Lineup in 2025:

  • Highlight Division – 2026 (Invite-Only)
  • Burn Division – 2027
  • Command Division – 2028
  • Rush Division – 2029 & 2030
  • Senior All-America Games – 2025, America’s Top 44 Boys and Girls players

“The Rush Division is a significant addition to our tournament,” said Lee Corrigan, President of Corrigan Sports. “We believe that by providing a dedicated space for rising 8th and 9th graders, we can better support their growth as players and help them transition to the next level of competition.”

All-America Lacrosse has a storied history of adapting to the current landscape within the lacrosse community and with the increase in participation among club and youth programs, The New Balance  All-America will feature incoming 2029 and 2030 athletes in its newest division. With the introduction of the Rush Division, we aim to enhance the experience for younger athletes by creating age-appropriate competition and development opportunities.

Rush, Command, Burn and Highlight teams will be selected to represent 12 different regions: Baltimore, CONNY, Long Island, Midwest, New England, New Jersey, Philadelphia, South, Southwest, Upstate New York, Washington DC, and West. Registrations for the regional tryouts are open now with dates and venues to be released as they become available.

The New Balance All-America main event will return to Maryland in 2025. The Underclass tournament will open play on Friday, July 25, and conclude on Championship Sunday, July 27. The annual Senior All-America games are scheduled for Saturday, July 26 and once again serve as the premier showcase for high school lacrosse players.
