April 28, 2023- Baltimore, MD /ENDURANCE SPORTSWIRE/ – After a successful return in 2022, Corrigan Sports Enterprises (CSE) has announced that the Bay Bridge Run will be held on November 12, 2023. Registration for the 2023 Bay Bridge Run will open for signups on Monday, May 1 at 12pm.
The Bay Bridge Run is one of the largest, most exciting mid-distance events anywhere. 4.35 miles of the 10k course takes place over water, on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, near Annapolis, Maryland. Registrants will have a chance to run or walk over the Chesapeake Bay. This event happens once a year and is the only way to cross this majestic span on foot.
“We are excited to be able to continue the tradition again this year, “said Lee Corrigan, President of Corrigan Sports. “This is such a unique event and involves a truly iconic Maryland landmark. CSE along with the MDTA, Anne Arundel County, and Queen Anne’s County are honored to be able to bring it to fruition for all to experience and enjoy”.
Finishers will earn one part of a 5-piece medal that features items that one may see while crossing the bridge. This medal will feature a flying seagull. Future years will offer a sailboat and a rockfish.
The Bay Bridge Run offers the only opportunity to cross the bridge on foot. Open to both runners and walkers, the event takes place on the eastbound span, which is closed to vehicles. Participants start on the west end of the bridge in Anne Arundel County and cross the 4.5-mile-long bridge before finishing in Chesapeake Bay Business Park in Queen Anne’s County on the eastern shore. Buses transport participants between outlying parking areas and the start and finish points.
